Old School RuneScape players battle for $10K on December 17 in the Deadman Invitational

Thousands of Old School RuneScape players will be facing off later this month in the Deadman Invitational, a battle royale eSports event in which there will be $10,000 on the line.

You might remember RuneScape as it was and think back fondly. Our list of the best old games will also tickle that nostalgia gland.

The event only made its debut earlier this year, but December's Deadman Invitational will already be the fourth one. It's popular, you see. In fact, the mass brawl has seen up to 90,000 concurrent viewers tune in to see the carnage at the height of its three-show run.

Thousands of Old School RuneScape players have been invited to the next event, where they will duke it out for that cash prize on the ultimate battle royale server where everyone is out for themselves and death is the end. The £10k prize will go to the last person standing.

"This time, the show will be taken to a whole new level at ESL UK’s Studio 1," says the press release. "Featuring competitions, freebies, a real-life iteration of RuneScape’s ‘Blue Moon Inn’ and an exclusive developer Q&A for the audience at the event, the Invitational is a fiery end to what has been a phenomenal year for Old School RuneScape."
